Volunteers

This event requires many volunteers to make it happen safely. We’re asking for one adult from each participating family to sign up for a volunteer position. The positions are listed below. Please indicate your first three preferences in the registration. (You will only be assigned one position.)

Volunteer Positions

Early Course Set-Up – Responsible for chalking streets, posting street signs, setting up street cones, etc. (6:00am start)

Check-In – Responsible for checking in triathletes as they arrive. (6:15am start)

Transition Set Up – Responsible for preparing Transition area (marking the parking lot, setting up cones, taping the area, etc. Once race begins, responsible for checking helmets, guiding participants to their assigned spots, assisting younger athletes with tying shoes, etc.

Timer – Responsible for timing participants during the race. (7:00am start)

Swim/Staging Area - Responsible for lining up swimmers according to their age/heat and sending athletes to pool when it's their turn. (7:00am start)

Lap Counter (Swim) - Responsible for counting laps to make sure swimmers complete the required number of laps for their age group. (7:30am start)

Water Table/Transition – Setting up water table and handing out water to runners as they pass. (7:15am start)

Course Marshal (Bike) - You will be assigned a spot along the course to stand and guide participants as well as hold traffic, when necessary, so participants can pass. (We’ll need many volunteers for this job. We will not have police marshals at this race so we plan to line the course with many volunteers for the safety of our triathletes.) (7:15am start)

Course Marshal (Run) - You will be assigned a spot along the course to stand and guide participants as well as hold traffic, when necessary, so participants can pass. (We’ll need many volunteers for this job. We will not have police marshals at this race so we plan to line the course with many volunteers for the safety of our triathletes.) (7:30am start)

Bike Sweeper - You'll follow the last biker so you can inform each course marshal that they can leave the course. (You'll be on your bike.) (7:30am start)

Run Sweeper - You'll follow the last runner so you can inform the course marshals that they can leave the course. (You can run or ride your bike.) (7:30am start)

Bike Patrol - You will be assigned an area of the bike and run course to ride along throughout the duration of the race to see if any athletes need assistance (flat tires, injuries, etc.) (7:30am start)

Water Table (Run Course) - Setting up water table and handing out water to runners as they pass. (7:15am start)

Post-Race Party – Setting up food, water tables and helping with clean-up. (7:15am start)

Photographer - Take great shots of the kids while swimming, biking, running or transitioning.

Medical (must be a Doctor or RN) - Must be on site and prepared to handle any medical issues that may occur.
